Our Policies

Privacy Practices
We are required by Federal and State Law to maintain the privacy of your health information, in strict adherence to the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA). Each patient will be given a copy of our “Notice of Privacy Practices” to review. This policy is mandated by law and will be followed to protect you and your family.

Patient Protection Program
Your health and welfare are important to us. We take every necessary step to safeguard your health every time you come into our office. We are in strict compliance with all state and federal regulations, including those set by Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), to meet or exceed all standards regarding infection control procedures. When taking any x-rays, we always place an approved apron over the patients to protect them, even though radiation doses used in digital imaging are very low. We always wear gloves, masks, protective eyewear, clinical gowns and use disposable plastic wraps to ensure your safety. We also follow the most up-to-date rigorous cleaning, disinfection and sterilization protocol.

If you have any questions about our infection control procedures, please ask us. We’ll be happy to tell you more about the steps we take to protect you. Our staff receives regular HIPAA and OSHA training to stay abreast of current regulations.

Insurance and Billing / Payment Options
We are committed to providing quality and affordable dental health care. You have multiple options for payment available. We accept many national and local insurance plans, please contact our office to verify acceptance of your plan. For your convenience we accept cash, checks, and major credit cards. Please see our Financial Coordinator for details. We are happy to file insurance claim at your behalf as long as you are free to choose your own dentist. If you would like to extend payments over a longer period of time, we offer third party financing in cooperation with CareCredit.

Appointments
It is our goal to provide you and your family with a comfortable dental visit. We make every effort to see all patients on time, and we ask that you extend the same courtesy to us. Your scheduled appointment time will be reserved exclusively for you and will be at a time best suited for the proposed treatment. Any change in your appointment will greatly affect your treatment and the treatment of other patients. While we are aware that unforeseen events sometimes require missing an appointment, we appreciate your cooperation and ask for 48-hours notice of appointment changes to allow us to rearrange the schedule. Increasing health care costs make scheduled times very expensive. If you miss your appointment without advanced notice, we reserve a right to apply a $50 fee to your account.

To assist our patients with their busy schedules, we will e-mail reminders at one month, two weeks and two days before the scheduled appointment. The e-mails are informational only and do not allow an e-mail response from your web browser. For your convenience, however, a confirmation button is active on the two week and two day reminder e-mails. You can confirm your appointment by clicking the button. If you need to reschedule or cancel your appointment, please call our office at (301) 249-9098/9099. Sheri or Kona will be happy to assist you.
